National Indigenous Peoples Day is a day recognizing and celebrating the heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of the First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples of Canada. This day is an occasion for all Canadians to celebrate the rich contribution Aboriginal people have made to Canada.

The 2019 FNMI Festival will beheld on the McMurray Metis Office Grounds 441 Sakitawaw trail in Gregoire. Throughout the day, there will be kids’ activities, vendors BBQ and live entertainment. Everyone is welcome, Free for all to attend.
The Local HERO Foundation (Helicopter Emergency Response Organization) held its annual fundraiser on May 4th in support of saving lives in the region. This important organization raises funds and awareness in support of Northeastern Alberta’s only 24/7 helicopter emergency medical services, a critical lifesaving service in our community.
It may seem hard to believe with the recent weather, but spring is right around the corner and that means baseball is starting. NTS is proud to be one of the Fort McMurray Minor Baseball Association’s House League sponsors for this season. Over 500 kids will be on diamonds all over town for the next couple of months.
